How are your fees structured?
Our firm will work with you to establish a fee structure which will work for you. Many clients request a project fee or annual retainer paid monthly to insure that total costs are agreed to up front. Other clients prefer an hourly rate which permits them to utilize the services of a specific lawyer for a specific project.
In any case, Hoffman Silver Gilman & Blasco will provide a written engagement letter which fully establishes fees before the representation is undertaken.
Are there any cases and problems which you do not work on?
Our firm does not generally handle criminal cases and usually does not take cases on a contingent fee. We do not practice tax law or securities law.
Does your firm specialize in particular cases?
In Alaska, we believe we offer the highest quality legal representation in a cost-efficient manner in commercial litigation, construction litigation, Alaska Native Corporation issues, and employment and contract issues for businesses and municipalities.
In Washington, D.C/Virginia, we focus on assisting our clients in natural resources, fisheries, marine, transportation, environmental permitting, Indian law and Alaska Native Corporation issues, municipal funding, and representation before federal agencies.
Does your firm practice family law?
We accept family law/divorce matters involving persons with potentially complex business and property interests. We generally do not accept custody disputes.
